I think the way is based on the person and various.

When you choose dictionary,what is your measure?

There are many dictionary in the world.
But we don't pay attention to choosing it.
Almost all people have same dictionary.In japan,like Koujien.

Many linguists publishing dictionarys.
So there are many ways of explanation of one word.

I suggest that when you buy a dictionary,see the page of"love"and if you like the explain of it,you get the one.
Then you can find the new viewpoint for dictionary,I think.
